We are the Task Force of the original Lugro-Wireless project wich began to work with wireless technologies sense the year 2003 to create a community network, independent connectivity providers and that uses exclusively free Software in its implementations.
In the middle of the year 2007 we start to work in the implementation of a wireless network using Mesh technology, wich was the more optimal for a metropolitan area like it's the city of Rosario and that doesn't have high points that allows to cover a big area with few APs of connection.
In the begining we work on different implementations like:
- BerlinRoofnet
- Wing
- Robin (an implementation that uses B.A.T.M.A.N)
The first two projects were discharged and we pass to make an implementation over Ro.B.In..
At the time we realize that the Ro.B.In. implementation didn't cover our expectations of simplicity and efficiency. For wich, and in base to that project that contribute with some ideas, we made our own implementation of B.A.T.M.A.N.and we named Nightwing.
From that is that Lugro-Mesh is very related with the development of Nightwing.

Why we choose that name?
Nightwing is the name of a superhero from DC Comics and used to accompany Batman in it's first adventures.
Nightwing is an excellent acrobat due to its trainning as trapize artist. It's also a master in many forms of fighting, is one of the biggest ditectives due to his trainning with Batman.

What we want to achieve?
Besides conquering the world, our intention is the research of the Wireless Networks using Free software and from those different wireless technologies, we choose the Mesh technology to create an auto-extensible metropolitan network that serves as base for the cityzen's comunication.
In base to that mission, the use of Nightwing as it comes for default allows the integration to the LUGRo-Mesh network, so that way extend its reach.
Of course, the source code is avalaible so own configurations can be made. We belive that it's important the contribution from those that are interest.
What we are not?
- We are not those from the Batman Fan Club
- We are not a religion.
Some of us believe that the MONESVOL create the earth, but we don't discriminate to anyone for what he believes :D - We are not a company.
Our developments are not financed, for the moment, for anyone but the development group. So are the devices used and the time put it to the project.
